Bibliography of Locally Available Books Containing Lists and Rosters of People Who Served During the American Revolution

The following bibliography is a compilation of books that are available in Sacramento area libraries.  This list is by no means complete nor does it represent all sources where information may be found regarding patriot (or loyalist) ancestors, but the books and CDs listed below do contain information that may help in your research.  The listing is arranged by state following a list of general references.  The following codes are used to indicate where library where each book or CD is kept.

[RC] – The Roots Cellar collection in the California State Archives located at 1020 O Street. The collection can be found in the Research Room on the 4th Floor.

[CSL] – California State Library, California Room. The California Room is located on the 2nd Floor of the Annex building at 900 N Street.

[FHL] – Family History Library, Sacramento Branch. This library is located behind the LDS church at 2745 Eastern Ave.

[SPL] – Sacramento Public Library, Central Branch. Located at 828 I Street, this library houses the collection of the Genealogical Association of Sacramento on the 4th Floor.
